Transforming access through human-centered system and technology design.
I'm a technologist, researcher, designer, and educator whose work centers on social impact technology and justice-system innovation. For over 15 years, I've worked at the intersection of human-centered design, technology innovation, and social justice, building products that help people access legal services, apply for government benefits, and navigate healthcare decisions during the hardest moments of their lives.
Currently, I'm the Director of System and Technology Design at Innovation for Justice, where I lead initiatives that improve access to justice through thoughtful legal and court technology design. I'm also a Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona College of Law and an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Utah School of Business, training the next generation of justice innovators to build technology ethically and effectively.
My path to this work started in journalism at Northwestern University, where I learned to listen to people's stories and translate complexity into clarity. That foundation, combined with a Master's in Technology and advanced training with the Stanford d.school, IDEO, and NN/g, shapes how I approach design: with empathy, respect, and a commitment to building products that actually work when people need them most.
I believe in trauma-informed design, community-grounded research, and building solutions with people, not for them. That belief drives everything I do, from leading cross-functional teams, and mentoring emerging technologists, to advocating for responsible AI that protects rather than harms vulnerable populations.
